July 2008: HIP HOP DAY on The Piazza, Lemon Quay, Truro featuring FLAVA
(as seen on T.V) from 11am. Come along to watch or get involved!
After the
success of last years street dance event in which over 200 young people
attended throughout the day we are grateful that Fiona Richardson’s School of
Dance are coming back this year. This year we are especially lucky to have
special guests ‘Flava’(as seen on TV) who will be appearing during the day.
Throughout the
day Young People Cornwall will have a stall where young people can meet workers
and find out more about getting involved with our projects and the range of
activities and events that we can offer. There will be street dance demos and
workshops going on all day. Young people will also have the chance to try some
graffiti art with the help from Mark of the Soup Gallery in Truro.
29th
August 2008: Gig in the Gardens. Come and watch bands from Zebs and
Young People Cornwall Projects in Victoria Gardens, Truro.
Zebs
Young People's Project is staging another Gig In The Gardens next Friday 29th
August. The event is strictly alcohol free and takes place at the bandstand in Victoria Gardens,
Truro, from 1pm
until 7pm.
Don’t
miss the opportunity to hear some of the fantastic, fresh and frenetic upcoming
beats and sounds that are emerging from Zebs Music drop-ins during weekday
evenings.
Artists
performing include: Audio Priests, Jetpack to Jupiter, Nif Nof, Fall Down
Freddy, Alice Tyler, Standing In The Ashes, Hedluv and many more.
Jan 08, Mobile Information, Advice & Guidance for Clays and North Cornwall: A
new mobile service is being piloted in Cornwall. The service is being
run by a partnership between Cornwall County Council, Cornwall &
isles of Scilly NHS, Youth Works, Share and Young People Cornwall. The
service is in operation on Mondays and Thursdays. We will update the
site with times and venues shortly.
21/1/08 Congratulations to
young people from Zebs and The band 'Standing in the Ashes' who were
supported by YPC to secure funding for a cafe project and a music gig
in the Roseland area from Our Money Your Dream. For more details
