Founded in 1974 to support and work with youth groups throughout the County,
Young People Cornwall is a local charity with a long track record of success
in helping young people aged 11 to 25. Building on our beginnings as the
Cornwall County Association of Youth Clubs, we decided in the late 1980’s
to become a major provider of youth work in our own right.
Today we support work with 11 – 25 year olds through specialist projects
and programmes addressing issues that marginalise or place young people
at risk, including mental health, homelessness, crime, racism, sexuality,
drug & alcohol use, abuse, rural isolation and poverty. |
We use a range of approaches within our
projects including information and guidance, helplines, outdoor activities,
music, arts, training, environmental and community work in order to facilitate
the personal and social development of young people.
All our activities work towards the 5 Every Child Matters
outcomes enabling young people to Stay Safe, Be Healthy, Enjoy & Achieve,
Make a Positive Contribution and Achieve Economic Well-being. |
